Forget fast food breakfast! Enjoy some of these alternatives instead.

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not eat right? Yes going to the drive through is quick and easy, not to mention addicting, but its not always the healthiest choice. On the other hand you can enjoy a delicious and filling breakfast at home in only a few minutes! Here are a couple of recipes I know you will all love like I have.
A non fat vanilla yogurt with bits of granola, chopped almonds and walnuts (unsalted), fresh cut fruit like strawberries  kiwis, bananas, apples, blue berries, and raspberries, with a slice of toasted whole wheat bagel and a glass of squeezed orange juice is a fresh and delicious breakfast! You shouldn't eat a tub full of course but a nice portion of this is wonderful.
For those of you who like your syrup, how about a couple of slices of whole wheat waffles nice and crunchy with a drizzle of light syrup with fresh cut fruits like strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and if you would like some more sweetness add a kiwi or a couple rings of pineapple on the side; and you cant forget the glass of non fat or low fat skim milk. You could even substitute the waffles for whole wheat pancakes without the butter if you like.

Lastly, i have a delicious veggie omelet for those who like a heavier breakfast. Its quick and only requires about 20 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients:
3 eggs
2-3 tbsp of milk
pinch of pepper
bell peppers
onions
tomato
cilantro

Directions:
1. beat the eggs, milk, and pepper together, add a thin layer of oil to a non stick skillet over medium heat. once warm pour the egg mixture in pan.
2. once egg is set, add the rest of the ingredients (chopped of course) minus the cilantro to half of the egg. Using a fork or spatula, gently lift the other half of the egg and slowly fold over the side with the ingredients.
3. once cooked all the way through place a plate over the pan upside down and flip omelet onto the plate.
4. top with chopped cilantro for garnish and fresh taste.

So next time you are grocery shopping remember to buy an obscene amount of fruits and yogurt and whole wheat products for a healthy start to your day.
